In short
No advertising cookies and nothing that builds a profile of you or sells your data. We ask before loading Google Analytics, and nothing is set unless you accept. The exact cookies and what they hold are listed below.
We also store one item to remember whether you prefer the light or dark theme.
01What this site stores
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
theme | Local storage | Remembers whether you chose light or dark so the page does not flash the wrong theme on your next visit. | Until you clear it |
That is everything we set. It is strictly necessary for a preference you chose yourself, contains no identifier, and is never sent to a server — it stays in your browser.
Google Analytics sets two further cookies if you accept it, listed in the next section, and Paddle sets its own if you open a checkout.
02Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count how many people visit and which pages they read. It is off until you accept it. If you do, Google sets the following cookies:
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Holds a randomly generated identifier for your browser, so that two visits from you are counted as one visitor rather than two. | 2 years |
_ga_<id> | Keeps session state for the same purpose. | 2 years |
That identifier is personal data under the GDPR, and Google acts as our processor for it on infrastructure that includes servers in the United States. We use it for one thing: counting. What we see is aggregate — pages viewed, referrers, approximate country, browser and device type. We never see who you are and never connect it to a licence or a support email.
Advertising features are switched off. Google Signals, ad personalisation and data sharing for advertising are all disabled, so nothing here is used to build an advertising profile or to target you elsewhere.
We ask before setting any of this. Until you accept, no analytics script is loaded, no request is made to Google and no cookie exists. Declining takes one click, changes nothing about how the site works, and is remembered — use Cookie settings in the footer to change your mind. You can also stop it independently of us:
- install Google’s official Analytics opt-out add-on, which blocks it on every site;
- block third-party analytics in your browser or with any content blocker — the site works identically;
- send us a Global Privacy Control signal, or email support@ext-hive.com and we will delete anything associated with you.
03Checkout
When you buy a plan, checkout is operated by Paddle.com Market Ltd.. Paddle sets its own strictly-necessary cookies to run the payment session and to prevent fraud.
Those cookies are set by Paddle as an independent controller and are governed by Paddle’s own cookie and privacy notices, shown to you during checkout. They only appear if you actually open a checkout.
04The extensions are separate
This policy covers the ext-hive.com website only. Our extensions do not use cookies at all; they use the browser’s sandboxed extension storage for your settings. Each extension’s privacy policy documents exactly what it stores.
05Your control
You can clear site data for this domain at any time from your browser settings. That removes the analytics cookies and your theme choice; the site returns to its default dark theme and counts you as a new visitor next time.
Blocking cookies or scripts for this site entirely will not break any functionality — every page works the same with analytics blocked. The opt-out routes listed under Analytics above are the most reliable way to stop the counting itself.
06Changes
If we introduce a cookie beyond those listed above — in particular anything for advertising, or anything that would follow you to another site — we will update this page first and ask your permission before setting it. Contact support@ext-hive.com with any question about this policy.
